| WIFI Access Project Complete | |
The Kern County Fairgrounds has completed Phase II of a two phase wireless internet project. Most of the fairgrounds now has public access to the internet. The service is available to anyone using the fairgrounds and is pay as you go. The pricing structure is $2.95 per hour, $8.95 per day or $49.95 per week. Instructions for connecting to the Kern County Fairgrounds internet access can be found by clicking here The project was funded entirely by the Kern County Fairgrounds. The Kern County Fair represents the 15th District Agricultural Association. Each year, the Great Kern County Fair hosts over 400,000 guests over 12 days. This is the largest, single event in the Southern San Joaquin Valley. Members of the Board of Directors includes, Jim Camp President; Nancy Wheeler-Smith, Vice President; Steve Smoot, Past President; Kay Meek, Janice Smith, Cesar Chavez, Les Clark, Karen DeWalt, and Mike Olcott.
